Christmas & Birthday

What’s everyone doing for Christmas & Birthday? We have brought our girl a Tonies box and people are buying her Tonies but totally stuck in ideas!

We are asking for annual passes to the zoo, aquarium, etc. For us, where under 2s/3s go free, so we can go on family days out and not add too much clutter to our already overflowing house 🤞 We've done this for years, before she was even considered, and have made good use of them this year, so we know they're worth it for us. I'm also planning on making use of the Aldi and Lidl wooden toy events that they usually do before Christmas, around October, to try and get as many bits and pieces as I can there for the rest of the next year. Oh, I'm also looking at a toddler tower for in our kitchen as she already loves watching me cooking and baking, so I think it will be well used. I'm not sure if we'll get it, or if it will be something we ask for as a present for her. I may also think about garden toys and paddling pool, etc. For the summer as hopefully, some things like that will be cheaper around then, and we currently don't have anything for her outside.

Going to set a precedence that these times aren’t for collecting ‘owed’ gifts that pile up ready to open like some kids grow up thinking but more about special time together, celebratory times and less about materialistic stuff. Something to open for the fun of opening it / a new toy or something she needs. But she gets most her sensory toys etc bought throughout the year. But from others, like Shannon said above, actual useful things to take them to for experiences and things is far better than people just buying stuff for the sake of needing to buy something to open.

We’re getting our little girl a dolls house, not a plastic mass made one but a special one that she can play with but then pass down to her children

We have a savings account for our little girl and have given everyone the details so they will transfer her money, they did the same for her baptism last week and worked out so well and no clutter in the house! She will receive all her savings when she’s 18 and hopefully buy her first car or have enough for a deposit on her first home Xx (We pay into it every month whatever we can too) xx

No idea what I’m going to get my LO. They have an older sibling of the same gender with loads of clothes in good condition, coming down with toys and could open a library. 🙃

God 😂 I understand my parents frustration for me now as I'm 11 days after Xmas but then my lil man Is 6 days after mine! So I guess we are each others bday pressie but ganna make it big for him for Xmas 🥰
