Help from uc

I’m not working so I don’t actually get maternity pay to help with buying things I need for when my little one gets here I’m currently on UC as I stopped working in December due to my mental health issues does anyone know any further support I can in Nottingham in regards to this or would I not be entitled to anything I know about the healthy start card for help with milks and vitamins but nothing other than that or any tips on what stay at home mums are doing to earn extra money

I would join the Olio app and also any local Facebook reuse groups as we got loads of great baby stuff for free that people were giving away 😊 Also Google whether there’s a baby bank local to you who could help

You’ll only get extra from UC once the baby is born 😫 then you can also claim child benefit once they are born but like above as you’re on benefits if it’s you’re first child you’ll be able to claim the £500 maternity grant

You may be eligible for maternity allowance, have you looked into it? https://www.gov.uk/maternity-paternity-pay-leave

Try the turn2us website you can use the benefit calculator to see what you get

I’m basically in a similar page I’m so stressed because I have nothing for the baby and I was thinking to do a group for every expecting mom to put her baby registry and all help each other buying something of the registry. It can be something simple but I think it would help

Aww that would be nice too be honest !! Not a bad idea at all @Marialejandra
