Should I lie on my resume

No I wouldn't encourage anyone to lie on their resume. Do you not have any experience? Or maybe get a professional to look at your resume. Sometimes when things are worded differently they can catch hiring managers eyes. Use some key words.

@Kimmy I only worked 2 jobs as a cashier 5-6 years ago and that’s when I became a sahm. My resume is professionally done, I just feel employers don’t take my resume serious because I barely have experience

Oh that's sad. Have you tried applying to the same companies on your resume but different locations? Or try applying to those that don't require experience? I know most places ask for experience but won't even give workers a try. Sometimes the gap in your work history can be a problem too. If you want to try volunteer work for a short period of time just to get the experience then you can apply again for other jobs. I had to do volunteer work a couple of times in the past to help build my resume.

Depending on what you can get away with, I would probably lie 🤷‍♀️, but you gotta be smart about it, or you’ll do yourself more harm…

Lie and find someone to back you up

What exactly are you going to lie about? If you mean your experience and qualifications? Then don’t lie. If you are lying about being pregnant, that’s fine, you don’t have to disclose you are pregnant.

Have you put in your gaps? I have when I was on maternity leave in my CV & just kept it brief. - Making & attending appointments - Organising my time etc... Its really important to put gaps into your CV as well, just input your transferable everyday life skills. If you're in charge of paying the bills, money management.

Lie

I wouldn’t lie as when you are being interviewed they will ask competency based questions on your experience as presented on your resume. Include your skills and experience and keep applying. You could also include a cover letter to provide more detail if you felt the job were particularly relevant to your skillset but were not ticking the right boxes for whatever reason. The worst would be getting a job you’re not qualified for and having that stress whilst pregnant.

I’ve lied on my resume every time. Educated myself on the position and researched the job and learned as i went. It’s always helped me get better jobs and I’ve never had an issue.
