Move forward or cancel cycle

So today I had my day 12 scan and I had 5 follicles between 18-13mm and 3 less than 10 mm. The doc wants me to do one more day of stim then go in for retrieval. I really don’t know how I feel about it. Based on my past experience, I need to have at least 14 follicles in order to have a successful cycle. Being that I’m 2 years older, my doc said this is a good number but I can’t help but feel pessimistic. Should I consider canceling and hope for better numbers next month or just go with it? Anyone in a similar situation?

Apparently, the older you get, the less the chances of getting a good number of follicles. On my day 12 scan 5 days ago, I unfortunately had low response on the right ovaries, and on the left, just 2 follicles, first one, 18mm, and 2nd 31mm, which was abnormal and cystic suspected. The doctors advised I cancel again. Bear in mind that when I tried 3 months ago, I had a total of 9 follicles, which at the time was perceived as low. They advised it may not get anu better

I would go ahead with it as it only take one Egg.

I agree with Monica- it only takes one good one. I would move forward, especially since the doctor said it’s a good number.

Go ahead x

Thanks ladies. I’m just concerned because I’ve done it 3 other times and these numbers are like my failed cycles so I feel like I’m just throwing away money. 😕

And we saved up money for one last cycle. Cannot afford to do any more after this one.

I’d be worried to cancel and try again as there’s no guarantee you’d have a better round, maybe never? I’ve done 4 cycles and each one my follicles got lower🤷🏻‍♀️ the cycle I got my daughter was the worst one and I got 6 eggs 4 fertilised and 1 embryo xx

@Hayley thank you. It was the opposite for me. I did 3 rounds 2 years ago and every time I got about 4-5 more eggs. But then again, it was 2 years ago so I guess there is no guarantee.

Oh really bless you, I understand why that’s your thoughts then as guess we only tend to go off our experiences! 🥲 good luck whatever you decide x
