Could you do this?

Is it EVER acceptable (forgivable?) for a mother to finally give up and let the other parent have their child? Under what circumstances?

Yes it's forgivable. I don't know if I could with my child unless I thought i was a danger to her or if I could not provide basic needs I know 2 people who have done this - will not go into detail as they not my stories. What is acceptable for 1 is not for another. There are also 3 sides to every story so someone cannot be judged if they have decided the best care for their child is not with them.

Yes and You can still be present in their lives too. Be there for them when they need you.

Yes there are circumstances in which it is acceptable and forgivable.

God wants you to be in your child’s life I don’t think He will forgive you giving up on your baby

@Billie Jean I truly don’t want to, I never give up as a rule and I especially move the earth and stars for my kids.. as all mothers should. My daughter’s father is good to her. He has always had this belief that mother’s aren’t essential and caregivers can be anyone. He wholeheartedly believes she doesn’t need me. He ignores all the common sense and science that says otherwise.. all because he and I had a parting of ways. She stays with him right now because our family went through a difficult time and I decided it would be better for the time being. I have been continuously fighting for my child since bc he refuses to return her now. It’s torn me apart every single day, and continues to in the now ensuing custody battle. I know she is secure and doing well. The constant degradation and denial of my worth is extremely mentally taxing. Sometimes I just consider letting go and letting God.
