Tranexamic acid
Has anyone taken this before ? I started bleeding after taking the combination pill, I’m awaiting a scan to check my womb lining but the doctor has given me tranexamic acid to take for 7 days to calm down the bleeding, I’m a bit worried because the nhs website says there’s an increased risk of heart attack and blood clot if you take it whilst taking the pill also 😬

I had it prescribed to regulate my heavy periods and can say it has helped me greatly. It’s not meant/advised according to my doctor to be taken more than 4 days in a row as it may cause blood clots.
I had this after i haemorrhaged after birth at 4 weeks post partum due to retained placenta , it worked quickly ! They might give you blood thinners too .
