@Lucie I'm seeing a consultant privately and I'm very lucky that private heath insurance covered diagnostic tests for infertility. The consultant suspected endometriosis and the laparoscopy and hysteroscopy were the only way of confirming as I didn't have usual symptoms
Thank you did they say why they suspected you had it? Did you have to pay to see the consultant or were you referred by your gp?
@Lucie Pretty much everything else had been ruled out. I think a proportion of unexplained infertility cases turn out to be silent endometriosis. I got an open referral from my GP and provided that to my health insurance company. The health insurance company then authorised me to book a consultation with their preferred consultant. I could have made my own appointment to see the same consultant paying myself and I think it would have been £300 just for the initial consultation
I’m sorry you’re feeling like this. I discovered I had endo and multiple other issues, including low AMH. I was recommended ICSI, which had to be private as we were not entitled to NHS help. I ended up having two egg collection rounds and one full ICSI round, which gathered 10 eggs in total. We were incredibly lucky for it to work first time. If you are in a financial position to, I’d def recommend looking at going private as you could start getting treatment pretty much immediately. Please don’t feel hopeless x
I’ve been to see a consultant and he had recommended I have Lap surgery to see if I have endo and also have a Hysteroscopy! I’m really nervous how painful was it? How long was healing time? X
@Lucie I didn't find it too painful but I was uncomfortable until the gas dispersed. I was exhausted after the anesthetic though. I was off work for a week and back after that but it took longer for full energy to come back
