Low PAPP-A

i have a low papp-a baby! and probably will this time too🤣 he was a low weight throughout (nothing too bad) and i had pre-eclampsia at the end. he’s perfectly healthy though! they do scare you with the leaflets etc but honestly i don’t think it’s anything to really worry about. if you have any questions feel free to message me🩷

I had Low Papp-A with my first baby too! Apart from growth scans in the last few weeks everything was fine 🥰 she was only 6lb 6oz when she was born but she was perfect, we got out of hospital the next day! The leaflets and Google do definitely scare you!

@Natalie thank you! Think I’m more worried about becoming pre eclamtic than anything else really. Partner and I are quite big so if baby is anything like us so will they 😂

@Billie-Jo id get yourself a blood pressure machine and just check it every day! that way if anything is off you’d know straight away. it can come on really quickly, on the friday before i was absolutely fine but come monday and i was severely poorly and needed a lot of medication

@Billie-Jo I've got low PAPP-A too, though I didn't with my first and he was born 8lb 12oz. He's a massive boy. I'm scared about low PAPP-A too but it seems as though it doesn't cause too much of a problem in most cases. Thankfully we have the extra monitoring. 🙏 We've got this!x

@Billie-Jo It absolutely is! I remember when they phoned me to tell me and just pretty much went ‘yeah do you have low Papp-a I’ll send a prescription of aspirin and yeah good luck’ 😂 sound cheers 😂 Honestly, apart from her being like a wee doll she was grand and so was I 🩷

@Amy no because why was my phone call the exact same 😂 apart from the fact I’m already on aspirin due to my bmi 😂😂😂 she was like ‘I’ve booked a load of extra scans for you but you’ll most likely be fine!’ Like sound babe cheers 😂👍🏼 I mean more paid time off work but that doesn’t help the extreme anxiety you’ve caused me 😂😂 x

@Billie-Jo Literally told me like I knew what it was 😂 My midwife never really mentioned it either till she told me to stop taking the aspirin at 36 weeks! It was so strange 😂 It doesn’t help the anxiety but you will be grand! 🥰 I got told the same thing about the scans and then my daughter hid in every single one so we seen her not much more 😂 x
