cervical check tomorrow

I have mine tomorrow too. Im so terrified too!!

Early checks won’t tell you much. A check around due date might be able to tell you if close (like 3 cm and 80% effaced) but otherwise it won’t tell you if it could be tomorrow or another 2 weeks.

It isn’t too bad! There’s a lot of pressure but it’s over quickly! Just make sure whoever does it has short nails or else I’d decline. My first one the woman’s nails were manicured nicely and natural but they were a little long and it was sharp! The second time (today) my nurse had short gel nails and I was very thankful lol

I’ve been at 100% and “3-4ish cm” for 2 weeks now 🫥 so while it’s cool to know I also wish I didn’t know or would’ve waited closer to my due date to check. It doesn’t really hurt, just feels a little uncomfortable/pressure and you can have some spotting after the check. I would suggest declining this one and then do it at 38 weeks. You could feel super disappointed if you haven’t made “progress” but it’s honestly not a great indicator since things could change so quickly. Good luck ❤️

It won’t tell you if you’re ready for labor. And it is a little uncomfy but not terrible. I didn’t want to until 38 weeks but did at 36 bc I was having contractions. Glad to know I was 1cm bc some people stay closed for a while.

I got one at 36 weeks and it was soooo painful that the past 2 weeks I’ve denied it. I’m 38 + 4 weeks now and have an appt tomorrow and have been going back n forth if now I wanna try again

I had my first last Monday and wasn’t anything 0% effaced and not dilated today I’m 50% effaced and 1cm dilated but I also started eating pineapple and stuff like that help with dilation

I just came from getting mine checked. 1cm dilated and she was talking too fast so idk anything about %. I definitely had a lot of pressure but it wasn’t painful.

My doctor doesn't check my cervix till 40weeks 🙄
