When to stop progesterone ?

Hey guys I’m currently on 400mg of Progesterone which I was told to take until 16 weeks. When do you stop using it ? Dead on 16 weeks or did you wait till you past 17 weeks ? I’m almost apprehensive to come off it as I feel it’s been a bit of a comfort blanket to reach this stage in my pregnancy.

I was told to stop after 16 weeks but then have been told to take until 24 weeks. It seems to vary a lot depending on the person/circumstances but speak to your midwife if you have any questions xx

I took them twice a day until 16+6 then I had enough left over to do 3 days with just 1 a day then 1 every other day to wean myself off them as I was too worried to just stop. No issues either with stopping! I hope that helps!

Midwife said you can either stop at 16 weeks or run through til you run out of tablets. Unless you’ve been prescribed them past 16 weeks, I am told there is no additional benefit to keep taking them. Others have said on here it’s because the placenta has taken over. Id maybe ask whoever prescribed them / your midwife for advice on what to do :) xx
