Newborn

Has anyone experienced co-parenting with a newborn? My baby is just one month old, and next week we will be starting a 50-50 arrangement (temporary agreement until we go to court). My heart is broken; it feels like a piece of my heart is being taken away. I am in Florida. Any advice on navigating this situation is appreciated, as well as tips for handling court, I hope I can ask for more than 50% cust.

i have and it was not easy, i completely understand how you’re feeling. just try and stay positive throughout it all, and document everything!!

@Kayla thank you Kayla. Did your baby sleep over at fathers? I just don’t know how I’m going to manage. How is your baby doing now?

I know that in Australia this isn’t in the child’s best interest as they are reliant on the mothers at that age. We did co parenting where the biological dad came to our house for visits so she could still breast feed when needed and I was still close by. So sorry you are going through this Mumma

It’s definitely not easy. But do what’s best for the child. I been dealing with a court battle for going on 6 years with my son’s father. It got nasty at one point but I trusted in my lawyer and I don’t care what anyone thinks about me or the situation and what I decided to do for my child. I have 3 children but I’m only dealing with a custody thing with my middle child. It’s definitely not easy but you need to trust the process. I usually do a live talking about it to help others but I barely am on here anymore.

Sorry you’re having to do that!! I’m in England and my baby is 7 months old. His dad won’t get overnight stays until at least age 1 through court as he’s breastfed. Surely they can’t be separated from their mums at that age anyway regardless of breastfeeding!? Xx
