I feel like the ones that said message and wont tell you publically are either a scam or an MLM... don't fall for it. There is plenty of content on YouTube explaining how MLMs are scams and how they rope you in and how 99% of people end up losing money on them. 1/
I worked from home for almost 3 years but got laid off last fall and was pregnant with my second. Had rough time finding a new position that made up the income needed. Baby is 4mo now and has been a challenging kiddo plus having my toddler home has made it hard to keep looking, but still am. I was working for a marketing agency and I got a masters degree in marketing in 2022. Started there while pursuing my degree as an intern then transitioned to full time in august 2021 when my classes were more manageable. I had been a senior event sales manager before 2020 for 5 years. So I had account management, sales, event planning experience and a bachelor's degree in hospitality management with certificate in marketing and sales. Went back for the masters to help change industries and it was successful in funding me a job. Just hard right now as a lot of people in the industry are being laid off and hiring process has been intense. 2/
I know a lot of people who also work from home tho in a variety of industries with a variety of experience levels. I'll list a few I can think of. One works for a vacation home rental company and she has a bachelor's degree plus has privately managed vacation rentals that her mom owns in our town. One works for another marketing company of some sort and has a bachelor's degree. One works for a car insurance company as a claims investigator and has a bachelor's degree of some sort. One works for a pharmacy tech company in sales. She has a bachelor's degree in occupational therapy and worked in that industry for over a year before deciding she wanted to pursue a new field. She got a job at this current company as an office manager then worked her ass off and became an account manager then senior and a year or so wanted to transition into sales. Her company went fully remote in 2020. 3/
Another friend works as a project manager for a marketing firm. She has a bachelor's and recently finished her master's too. She is a contract worker through an agency that has positions listed for tons of companies. One does something super technical like computer engineering I think. She only has a bachelor's as far as I know. One was a marketing director for some wine company and she has a marketing masters like me. Prior to the masters, she was in sales for a virtual event company. One is in sales with Microsoft and she has a bachelor's in business. 4/
Most people I know do sales, accounting, finance, project management, marketing, tech, administrative assistants, or creative work like graphic design, film editing, programming, web development, etc. Most have bachelors degrees, sometimes unrelated. Some worked their way up. Some got related certifications. You can also freelance basically any skill or become a virtual assistant with not much "experience" but running a household typically gives you a lot of transferable skills. 5/5
I work from home in the financial industry. I hold a full life license, and with that I do investments as well!
I’m a full-time Virtual Assistant. I combined the things I was good at with my hobbies and now I make money doing those for other business owners. There’s no shortage of businesses who benefit from hiring a contractor. It’s a great industry to jump into now, it’s been growing a lot in the past 10 years!
