Low AMH and IVF success stories

It looks like we might be starting a second round of IVF for baby no 2 soon. We had our little boy via IVF in Dec 22 and he was our only embryo. For the next cycle, the consultant has recommended a higher dose of gonal f instead of menopur. I also have a low amh of 4.7 for my age (33) and my AFC was 5 at the last scan. Does anyone have any success stories they can share or let me know if you were also on gonal f and how many eggs were retrieved and then fertilised? Thank you 💕

Hi, our stories sound very similar, I’m just a bit older at 36. I had my little boy in March 23 and he was my 2nd transfer. 1st fresh failed and my baby boy was my only FET. I was on gonal-f for that cycle and they saw 11 follicles and got 5 eggs. All fertilised but by day 5 I just had the 2 which were viable. For that cycle I started on 225 gonal-f and it was upped to 300 after day 6 of stims. My AMH at the time was normal at 13.2. Now 2 years later, I have a low AMH of 1.97 and so they started me on the max dose and they saw 5 follicles, 2 growing at 9mm on day 6 stims which was what they were at the same point 2 years ago. I’m hoping that despite having less follicles and therefore eggs, whatever they manage to collect will at least be quality. Wishing you all the luck for that special baby no. 2! X

I’m 29 and my AMH is 3.8 and was told that was fairly good 🤷🏻‍♀️ Anyway I’ve just gone through an IVF sibling round using gonal f and got my BFP this week 🤞 I had 12 eggs retrieved (after only initially expecting 7-8) 9 mature and 8 fertilised. 4 embryos on day 3, 2 transferred and other 2 then arrested and not suitable to freeze. My last couple of cycles I only ever ended up with one embryo too so this was my 3rd egg collection. Wishing you lots of luck 💗

@Terri hi, thank you for your message. That does sound similar! I'm trying to remind myself that it worked last time with one embryo and it does only take one so I'm really trying to focus on that. All the best with your next cycle, I'm keeping everything crossed for you! X

@Hayley amazing, congratulations! Hope you're feeling okay. That's good numbers after what was expected. Hoping everything processes well for you 🤞💕
