Artificial Oocyte Activation (AOA)

Has anyone heard of this/had it considered or used in IVF with ICSI? I've had three rounds of IVF and each time although they collect eggs, sperm parameters aren't terrible, they don't seem to make it through fertilisation. Or when they have the quality of the one and only embryo has been shit.

We had three IVF rounds and never had a good quality embryo. Our forth round we tried AOA and zymot and we got two good quality blasts x

@Dee we've used zymot but made no difference so hoping my clinic will allow us to use AOA

We are doing this in my upcoming cycle, I think the doctor called it Calcium Ionosphere - def curious to learn others experience too!

For anyone following this post, apparently clinics only consider if the fertilisation of eggs and sperm is less than 30%

We had all our eggs fertilise in the previous round (3 out of 3) but the quality was poor so not always just low fertilisation rate as a reason for this treatment x

@Dee our quality is poor also so not sure why our clinic is saying AOA not appropriate. Are your embryos not good quality? Because that seems to be our problem

Yeah that was our issue. We never had any good quality embryos. Used AOA and got two good quality embryos. Might be coincidence but that and zymot are the only things we changed x
