TMI

Alright mamas I need some help! When I had my youngest son 3 years ago I tested positive for bacterial vaginosis and was treated before I gave birth. I’ve been noticing some of the same symptoms but I’ve done some research and a lot of people treat it over the counter because they say if they go to the doctor they will prescribe an antibiotic which causes more symptoms or it will relieve symptoms just to come back again. I’m a very clean person and I know that doesn’t matter because most women have it or has had it at some point. I guess I’m needing to know if you’ve had it how did you treat it? All advice welcome!

I always try over the counter for convenience but typically I end up needing a prescription to actually clear it up completely

I’ve done warm water with a splash of apple cider vinegar with the mother. I’ve inserted the liquid inside of me and done it a few times a day. I honestly have done that to keep me comfortable until I can get a prescription. But honestly a natural way hasn’t resolved my issue. I’ve always have had to get a prescription. I don’t get it often. Maybe like 1 or 2 times a year after I get my period.

Giving birth was like a reset for that microbiome. I am now 100% religious about peeing after sex. I can't afford the time off, haha!

I got a kit off Amazon that’s amazing, comes with test strips, suppositories & an insert

I believe they’re boric acid if I’m not mistaken

Just go to the Dr and then ask them to prescribe antibiotics in case you develop a yeast infection afterwards or just start taking Monistat 7.

I use boric acid capsules that are inserted in the vagina. I am very prone to yeast infections and bacterial vaginosis. For some reason even with religious probiotic use the good bacteria in my vagina is almost non-existent. Anytime I start having symptoms I use the boric acid capsules one or two times a day a few days in a row and it all goes away.
