Thyroid condition

Does anyone have a thyroid condition (hypothyroid or hyperthyroid) and is due in December? I am 16 weeks pregnant and have hypothyroidism. Went for a blood test a couple weeks ago and TSH was .12 - had another this week and level went down to .08. My doctor does not seem to think this is dangerously low or anything but online says otherwise. If anyone is in the same boat, what would you recommend?

Hey.... fellow hypothyroid here. I'm 14 + 6. I would honestly go to your Endocrinologist and ask their opinion. Mine has been working very closely with my OB to make sure my levels stay good. At my last appointment my endo told me most woman need to get their meds increased by 20% when they are pregnant. I understand your worry, tell your Endo you're pregnant and they will more than likely work you in faster! Message me at anytime if you want to talk.

She is a friend of the family and has been for years and she knew immediately when I found out I was pregnant

A full thyroid panel (TSH, TPO antibodies, t3, t4, etc) would paint a better picture of overall thyroid function. TSH alone doesn’t always give a good indication. Hypothyroidism would show a high TSH (anything over 3.0 in functional medicine is cause for raising awareness), so working closely with an endocrinologist, especially during pregnancy when hormones (TSH is a hormone) are variable is best. Also chat with your OB for another opinion as they may have a reproductive endocrinologist they work with. Keep advocating for yourself, and good luck!
