Contraception after birth

My doctors have a four month waiting list to get a coil, which ideally I don’t really want to wait four months - what contraception works for you guys? I’m worried it’s gonna really affect my hormones if I take the pill

Following as know this is around the corner!

Ngl my baby is contraception for me rn 😂 No but we are 6 weeks since birth and beginning to think of this too (especially as I feel so much more connected to my partner since our baby girl came) and I don’t want to take tablets to mess up my hormones so we are thinking of just using condoms but that fear is real 😂

I decided to get my tubes tied as don’t want any more babies xx

I'm on the implant, works brilliant for me :) xx

4 months 😳 that’s nuts. I have been using the pill and it doesn’t seem to have effected my hormones anymore then they already are from breastfeeding x

@Jessica what pill are you on? Xx

I’m on the depo injection, they done mine at my 6 week check appointment - now 11 weeks pp and working well for me so far x

No contraception for us… hormones really mess with me and copper coil gave us real big issues but partner is getting the snip in September instead!✂️ My partner was offered two dates within the next 8 weeks but he works away half the year so have to wait but if you don’t want any more children.. I’d lean on partner to get it done if you’re worried about hormones

I really rate the patch, didn't effect my hormones as much as the pill and it stays on for 7days take off and replace

We will use condoms, I really don’t want to take anything that will interfere with my hormones when they are still so unsettled from pregnancy x

Ask your health visitor or midwife they could help bump you up
