I know it's stressful to get anything unexpected but doesn't sound too bad to me - it says 'very low risk...of a lower birth weight' and they're going to offer you extra monitoring and support to make sure that doesn't happen. Go easy on yourself, it doesn't sound like a big problem from reading that, to me anyway

Looks from a quick google like aspirin should help reduce the risk. Take care of yourself and try not to worry too much, they're going to be fine x

I have low PAPP-A this pregnancy (was never mentioned/the case with my first) and am on 150mg aspirin. There's a FB group with loads of super positive stories. Low PAPP-A definitely doesn't mean any problems - they just keep a closer eye on you.

I have low PAPP-A for this pregnancy which is also my first, it might be a little upsetting but they should prescribe you Asprin as it’s a blood thinner, overall you and baby will both be fine🤍

They’ll put you on a dosage that is safe for baby, a quick Google shows that it helps reduce the risk. Low PAPP-A means a low risk of a low birth weight baby, which isn’t too bad as it’ll be fully developed just a small baby which is normal with babies. If you have any concerns it does say to call your midwife.

I got this letter too after the screening and I emailed in to the midwife team. They advised to start taking the aspirin and will discuss in more depth at 16 week appointment. From the research I’ve done, it’s generally nothing to worry about but they do keep a closer eye on size of baby and markers for pre-eclampsia as slightly higher risk of those things.

I had it last pregnancy. i just took baby aspirin , but even that's just a precaution. All was fine

Did they tell you how low your level was? I have this and the midwife called me to let me know before I got the letter and booked me an appointment with the gynaecologist. They will just offer me extra scans and put me on aspirin but said there was nothing to worry about, I would give them a call and check if they haven’t been in touch about it

I have it for this pregnancy! Now on daily aspirin and extra growth scans after 20 weeks. They will keep a close eye on you towards the end so pls try not to worry. Disappointing they just sent a letter and didn't talk to you though!
