Contraception help!!

I am so bad at taking the pill. We have 2 under 2 and really cannot afford to have another any time soon. I am on desogestrel and took the first pill at 3am yesterday then another at 11pm yesterday and another at 1pm today. Then had unprotected sex at 7pm today. If I calculate this it’s around 40 hours not the 48 needed to be protected. So I’m debating whether to use the morning after pill. I have actually already taken one in this cycle. Seriously I am a mess with contraceptives. I can’t go on like this and tbh I know I need some help.

Take the morning after pill 100%. Maybe try taking it at the same time everyday (when you first get up etc) so it becomes habit. Alternatively, I’d look into getting the 3 month injection, if you cannot afford / don’t want another, the pill doesn’t sound like a risk you should be taking xx

There's only a 50/50 of the morning after pill working if you haven't ovulated yet but if you have it won't stop conception

Have you tried switching to the patch? I was on it a while and it was great because it’s a little sticker you leave on for 1 week and then once a week you change it. I was also awful at taking it every day. Definitely do morning after pill just in case, but there are a lot of contraceptive methods that don’t require daily pills 🙂

@Victoria Aguilar something else to add to this is a lot of people don’t know there is a weight limit on them as well. 165 and under for plan B and 165 to 185 for Ella brand. Most likely won’t work at all if you are over that unless you take multiples and still it’s a toss up.

The patch or an IUD like Mirena

I'm currently taking desogestrel and I used to forget so I got an alarm set to remind me to take them
