Always double check your prescriptions!
Im 14 weeks pregnant and got a text from the gp to say that id tested postive for thrush and theyd sent a prescription to the pharmacy. When i collected it the pharmicist was worried about me using it in pregnancy. They’d prescribed 500mg Clotrinazole vaginal pessarys, 1 to be used each day for 7 days. They’d given me 7x 500mg pessaries. The dose that should of been prescribed is 7x 100mg or 1x 500mg. I called up the surgery and they agreed and said I shouldnt use more than one!
I asked if it would be reported but they just said ‘I can send an email if I want’. Which I don’t think is that good as they should take it more seriously especially with pregnant women. All I’m saying is make sure you double check your prescription dose on the nhs website, cos doctors make mistakes just like the rest of us.

@Yenla ah okay, but it wasnt the pharmacy’s fault, they were following the doctors prescription, hopefully the doctor will be notified
No, it's not the pharmacists fault, but they noticed it, so they now have a duty to report it, because they refused to dispense it and had to change it. They won't get into trouble, but the prescription is logged on their system as incorrect, that's why she told you she doesn't want to give it to you, and it is a drug error that she is aware of, so she can't not datix it. I hope that makes a little morse sense
@Yenla ah okay. They didnt refuse or change it, they gave it to me. I have 7 boxes of 500mg

They have to complete something called a datix, which I'm sure the pharmacy already will, so don't worry, it will be logged as a near miss, moderate harm event. It won't go unrecorded!
