Peoples experiences with citalopram?

Just been prescribed this for my anxiety and depression but I’ve never taken any type of medication long term. I know it should help me but would love to hear anyone else’s personal experiences with this. Thankyou ❤️

Citalopram made me emotionless, litrally didn't feel happy or sad. I found it weird and was moved onto fluroxatine. My best friend however citalopram works wonders and it's keeping them sain where as other meds didn't.

@Helen I’ve only been taking it now for 4 days and I feel awful! I know it takes weeks for it to settle down but my heart constantly feels like it’s going to burst out of my chest. I’m in constant fight or flight mode. I’m not eating anything I feel so sick all the time. How long after taking it did you notice it wasn’t working for you and switched ? Thankyou x

@Jade within a week I thought this isn't right. But I stayed on it for just over a month as I had a 6 week review where I mentioned my concerns. My GP luckily listened and said to try fluroxatine, i then had another 6 week review where we discussed side effects & if i felt better. SSR uptake isn't fun, I've done it 3 times now, you feel worse before you feel better ( which is why I stuck it out for the 6 weeks, in hope it would settle). I'm currently off fluroxatine (coming off isn't much fun either).
