After being on conception how long does it usually take for your period to come back ?

First time I came off the depo it took around 3/4 months to have my first period. I was in absolute agony too. Then second time around I did pill and depo. Again took around 3 months for my periods to come back. But then I was on my period all the time having 3 days normal and then on again, this went on for 3 months
Thanks, were you TTC or coming off for another reason?
First time round it was because I felt my body needed the break from it. Second time around was because we wanted to start our little family.
