Need some hope

Just looking for some stories of hope... I'm 15 cycles of ttc our second and just got my period again 😩. Had two chemicals last summer but nothing since. I'll be 35 in two months and feeling like my time is running out. Unfortunately, fertility treatments are not within reach for us. Someone please share some success stories!

Me and my husband tried for 18 months (34f and 37m) we were due to start IVF in July but we got an unexpected positive at the end of May. I have thyroid issues (hashimotos) and my husband was diagnosed with male factor infertility. I was placed on meds for my thyroid and he was placed on clomid which he tried for about 2 months before we got our positive. Wishing you all the best!

I have a midwife I’m currently working with and she’s doing bloodwork for me to make sure I have good vitamin levels and thyroid function. Maybe this is something you can look into?

It’s way cheaper than going through a doctor 😉

We tried for 4 years with doctors help and we had a healthy boy in Dec and I’m 7 weeks currently!

This time around was a surprise and totally natural

I got pregnant finally at cycle 14 with my second and I'm 35 with letrozole. I've been told letrozole is not as expensive, is that something you could try? Do you know if you ovulate?

I just want to say Letrozole is very affordable. Your PCP can probably order some tests to check if you are ovulating and can even prescribe letrozole at lower doses so you wouldn't even need to see a fertility doc. My letrozole was never more than $10 per cycle and I was on the max dose.

Thanks! Maybe that's something I look into. I'm definitely ovulating every month consistently on day 13/14 - testing with home LH tests

OK, that's great! Then letrozole is probably not what you need! I just mentioned it because it's easy to group all possible fertility treatments into a bucket. But there is actually quite the range of options and some are significantly more affordable. I agree with what other folks on here said about working with your PCP. A basic workup to see if there are any basic health issues to sort out, like vitamin deficiencies, thyroid, or insulin imbalance, etc. Is probably worth looking into since it should be covered by your insurance.
