IUD

Has anyone gotten an IUD? I want to get one because I feel as if my nexplanon is making me gain weight but I’m so scared that the insertion will hurt soooo bad. So if anyone has gotten one did it hurt for you?

just commenting to find this post again. i shouldve just bit the bullet and got one post birth but i was too scared. would rather go through birth again than get an IUD. i do not know why i am so scared of it 😂😭

I had a IUD before but I don’t remember it really hurting. Just very uncomfortable. I go Tuesday for my IUD copper. I can let you know if you don’t go before then

This is my 2nd iud. I ABSOLUTELY LOVEEEE it

I had mine placed immediately after birth, and I had it for a little over two years… but I would not recommend it to anyone now. My strings were never visible, & my doctor couldn’t feel them when checking. I eventually started cramping & having light spotting almost every day. An ultrasound showed the iud had moved & was embedded within my uterine wall. So basically, I was contracting 24/7 because my body was trying to rid itself of the foreign object. I had to have surgery to get it removed… & I wouldn’t wish any of what I went through on anyone! 🤍

It does pinch but it’s over so fast!!!!

@maggie grace same!! That’s why I got the nexplanon, I saw so many videos of girls in tears while getting it put in on tik tok and it made me terrified😭

@Nique yes please let me know!

@Ashley that makes me feel better haha, did you have cramping after getting it put in or anything?

I got the paragard (copper) IUD and love it. It was uncomfortable when I got it. I had a little bit of cramping and bleeding for a day or two but after that it has been great. I forget I have it most of the time and I would absolutely get it again.

I did some on the first one but not the second. I also don’t have a period either so every little cramp was definitely worth it💁🏼‍♀️ my mom also doesn’t have a period with hers.

I loved my first IUD. Insertion was okay. They gave me a muscle relaxer and Tylenol. I hated my second IUD.... No medication before insertion. It was legit painful, like the worst cramp ever. I also got knocked up and had it removed 3 years early.

IUD was a fantastic decision. Painful and cramping for a few months after. But then nothing, not even a period, for the 7 years I had it. It was awesome. I forgot what it was like to have a period 😅

Don’t get I have one and I’ve been bleeding for 8 months straight been having sharp pain during intercourse or sometimes on a regular basis. Also I’m trying to take mine out because it’s been damaginga lot of peoples insides to were they can’t have kids anymore. My thing is I would definitely try something else if you can bc I’m struggling trying to get mine out but no one can take it out but my OB doctor which isn’t until August 12 ps my bleeding is heavy not light

I loved mine. I had the mirena. I have endometriosis and have literally tried every kind of birth control (pills, patch, shot, etc.) and nothing helped me as much as the mirena.

Sooo…. I got the IUD and hands down would rather have birth again instead of that. I actually had my blood pressure drop and had to stay in the office/ my car for a total of an hour. When I get this one out I will think long and hard about whether I get another depending on my experience with it for the next 5-8 years. Also didn’t have a period the first 2 months. Now I have had it every month, light to medium for a full week where as I used to only have one 3days max.

@India I had mine for almost two years and then these same symptoms started. An ultrasound showed it was embedded in my uterus, & I had to have it surgically removed!
