Mini pill

So I had my daughter back in October, and due to high blood pressure, the doctor had to put me on the mini pill. I have never been on the mini pill before. I noticed cramps being harsher, sometimes bleeding a lot sometimes bleeding a little and the periods are sporadic. When I was on the combo pill I would always start during the placebo pill but now I never know. My period has not come and I am terrified to take a pregnancy test. Has anyone been on the mini pill and if so have you missed a period and not been pregnant? Is this common?

I was on the mini pill for around 2-3 years and once I settled onto it I barely ever had periods, and if I did they became really light. I didn't get pregnant until 2 weeks after I specifically chose to come off of it.

@Tee did you consistently take it at the same time?

Approximately the same time every day yes, though I'm sure over the years there were times when I took it later. But I'd often go a month or two without any kind of bleed and still not be pregnant. Definitely take a test if you're worried though!

I am also on the mini pill, and my first period was so heavy! I don’t take breaks and keep taking the pills and i get a period every 3 months.

@Ellie so not having a period can happen. Its just nerve wrecking because I have always been on the combo pill and I hate not knowing when it is going to come

If you have kept taking the pills without missing a day, 3months was the longest I could go without having a period.

@Ellie I havent missed a day, just a couple days not exactly at the same time
