Nhs funding for IVF

Hey, I’m with a fertility clinic in Norfolk and under the NHS route - here we are entitled to four rounds of IVF. I had the first cycle in March, and got pregnant but sadly lost the baby at 12 weeks. Does anyone know whether I would still be on the NHS track (and able to go for round 2) or if I would be made to go on the private funding route now? Waiting for my appointment with our fertility clinic but that’s in 6 weeks so just trying to prepare myself!! Thanks xx

As far as I know you can use the funding until you have a successful pregnancy or use up the cycles given. I’m so sorry for your loss. 12 weeks must have been very tough. X

As far as I know, even if you have spare embryos waiting for transfer that is still classed as the same (round) of Ivf . As Bex has said above funding stops once you have had a successful pregnancy . If you have spare embryos remaining after a successful pregnancy you will have to pay for meds and transfer. Also each year the hospital keeps any remaining embryos you will pay an amount . I am so very sorry for your loss xxx

I’m sorry to hear of your loss🤍 I am also funded through NHS and asked my clinic this question, they said that in the case of a loss no matter how far along, i would return to the clinic and we try again until all my nhs fundind is used. I should think and hope its the same case for you too xxx

Thank you so much everyone for your kind words and helpful input. Relieved to know that we will still be considered nhs! Xxx
