IUD and period

Didn’t know where else to ask, I got the IUD maybe a week or so before my period was due to start and was told to expect my periods to get lighter and even go away within at least 3-6 months. I just got my first period after getting it put in and it’s already so light I don’t even need a pad to collect anything. I guess I just want to ask if anyone else has had this happen or should I not get my hopes up about my period already being so light and expect it to be heavier next month? I haven’t been able to find any info for my question lol

When I had my IUD they were a little lighter but didn’t completely go. I had a tilted uterus so the IUD caused me pain, I got it removed and went onto the patch - so far it’s the best contraception I’ve used 🙂

I got mine recently and only used liners for a few days.

Eventually you will not have a period at all. I lived without a period for years! With the IUD, definitely my fave benefit

Wow. I have the copper IUD and my Pre-period cramps start exactly 7 days before I start and then when I start my period it lasts 7-10 days! Sounds like the hormonal versions do different things. Lucky you!
