Further testing after multiple failed transfers

Ladies who have had 2 or more failed transfers.... Did you opt for any further tests? What did your clinic offer you? We've had our 4th transfer fail and have 1 embryo left (no PGT-A testing was done on any of our embryos)

I had quite a few bloods doing for repeated loss and implantation failure, was also offered the ERA testing for uterine receptivity but didn't need it. On my successful frozen transfer I had my progesterone tested the day before transfer and ended up on lubion as well as pessaries and also took steroids and clexane as part of the cycle and added aspirin once confirmed positive. Xx

I’ve had quite a few extra tests after some failed transfers. I’ve had extended blood screening- for thrombophilia and autoimmune, blood NK testing, 3d saline scan to check for adhesions (and previous hysteroscopy and laparoscopy when blocked tube was removed), EMMA and ALICE biopsies. I’ve not had ERA but considering it (it’s not validated in the type of transfers I’ve been having so held off for now). Happy to chat if helpful x

We had further testing after 7 fails. Turned out I had adenomyosis which was made worst after each cycle as oestrogen fuels adenomyosis. I had zero symptoms and alot of uk clinics don’t know what it is or the know what the signs are on a scan. Each cycle was basically going to fail as it’s the enemy of embryos

I was offered a bunch of “recurrent implantation failure” tests with Care. They cost about a grand and looked at my immune system and blood clotting and stuff. For subsequent transfers I was put on steroids and blood thinners. We did eventually PGT-A test the embryos too as I had quite a lot on ice and didn’t want to lose anymore time.

We did PGT-A testing on all of our embryos but it took us 4 transfers to get pregnant. No further testing was done but the doctor suggested for the 4th transfer, I switch from progesterone shots to progesterone pills. I also started acupuncture 3 months before my transfer and it worked.

Thank you ladies for your very valuable advice 🙂

@Hayley hi Hayley please can you tell me how you went about getting this tested?

Hiya! I had a private pelvic mri scan which was highly suggestive of it. Then I had a laparoscopy to confirm it 👍🏻 the uk don’t treat it and don’t know how too so I went to Bulgaria and had a valproic acid treatment which treated and cleared the inflammation 👍🏻 my uterus was red raw on the inside and yet I had no symptoms

@Hayley thank you, I have no idea what my issue is at the moment I'm just looking at what I should be ruling out. Did you just ask your clinic to do the pelvic MRI?

@Amelia no I went to a private MRI clinic to have it done. I decided I’d had enough of the fails and knew something wasn’t right

I had PGT-A testing every single egg retrieval once I started IVF path. I also had the test that pushed dye up into your tubes when I first started because I did IUI first. I've had 3 FETs and only one didn't have a successful implantation. The 2nd one worked but I lost it. Any I'm on my 3rd now but HCG numbers are low. So, not sure how much of a difference it makes other than knowing you're increasing your chances of a successful pregnancy by ruling everything else out.
