UK doctors

Been ttc since December. If I go to the doctors, are they able to help me or will they just tell me to wait until the year mark? Pretty sure I’m not ovulating. Also no idea what’s wrong but I just feel so uncomfortable in my lower body. Thought it was digestive as I have IBS but it doesn’t feel like that. (Tests are negative but I’m pretty sure I didn’t ovulate this month)

I highly recommend to read the book "taking charge of your fertility" for more insight into ovulation. And for both you AND your partner to visit the doctor if you are concerned there may be an underlying issue. Don't assume that you are the cause, it takes two. Keep in mind part of it is also just luck and you only have about a 30% maximum chance of conceiving each cycle. The longer you try, the higher the probability, and around 90% of couples will conceive within the first year

If I were you I would lie and say you’ve been trying for longer especially if you know there’s something going on with your body. Doctors in the UK frustrates me so much and unless you make it a big deal they won’t take you seriously. And I would ask to run all the tests again making it quite serious.

@Giulia Annoyingly they know I came off the pill in December as I was coming off other medication so I can’t lie 😕 Yeah all I can find is they won’t do anything if it’s been less than a year.

@Sadie It sadly doesn’t really work that way in the UK. Thanks for the book recommendation though! I’ve been on the look out for something like that!

Ahh bless you but I would still try to push for testing your ovulation as you can say you’ve been tracking it and think you’re not ovulating. It worth trying just in case. Hope you get listened to and are able to conceive soon xxx
