Contraception

Can you recommend some good Contraception that won’t turn me into a walking monster? I’m 25 yrs old, first time mum never used anything (only had an implant for a short while but the hormones were unbearable).

the patch maybe? i use the patch rn

Copper coil it’s non hormonal x

The best ive tried is cerelle but another pill turned me genuinely crazy so maybe dont go down that route 🫣 whatever you do if you’re sensitive to the hormones like me do nottt do the injection no matter what anyone tells you! Everything else is removable/stoppable, that one you just gotta wait out, no thank you!

I have endo so needed something to help. The pill wasn’t enough and injection horrific. If you still want some hormones and period to stop the marina coil contains the least hormones because of where it’s positioned. It was not nice at the beginning for me to get but then you forget and was so easy for 5 years x

I second what @Kate said the mirena was amazing for my endo had the implant in and had to have it removed 7 months later because of all the side effects the mirena stopped my periods which was a bonus no more horrible painful periods and it's also now licensed to be in place for 8 yrs

I successfully used natural cycles as contraception. Used condoms on the build up and during ovulation But if you know you would stick to the temperature taking (newer apple watches can actually take your temp and so can samsung) then I'd suggest a different option but I absolutely loved it and felt so much better off chemical contraception x

I got the rod 1 week postpartum as I’m scared to get pregnant again especially right after giving birth and my partner has been connected to me since the birth so for a piece of mind I got the implant I like it because I can feel it in my arm which gives me reassurance

I've always been on the combined pill, each one has different side affects. Most ao far have just killed my sex drive but so did having a baby so maybe that's just me being me
