When I was pregnant I read ‘The Book You Wish Your Parents Had Read’ and there’s not loads about baby, but I am really glad I read it and has hugely helped conversations with me and my husband about how we want to parent x

I read the book you wish your parents read too. Some of it I don’t agree with (e.g. my baby literally has a machine that makes a shush noise for white noise, apparently we shouldn’t shush children) but on the whole I agree with the ethos of the book. Don’t read “what to expect when you are expecting the 1st year”. I found it patronising in parts, unhelpful in others. I had to completely ignore the formula/ weight advice and it actually upset me because it made me feeling like my baby was over fed and over weight. It didn’t account for 99th percentile babies. Also a lot of the advice was old and out dated and she clearly had a chip on her shoulder against formula feeding. Read a few weaning books. Joe wicks “wean in 15” was bright and breezy. Charlotte Stirling reed “how to wean you baby” is like a weaning bible that I’m following.

Thank you ladies. Have heard good things about that one x
