Dad’s Parenting

How do your children’s father’s parent? Mine’s idea of parenting is: slap on the TV and go on his phone. He’ll keep an eye on him (most of the time) but doesn’t ever get on the floor to play with him. He will tickle him and make him laugh but, to me that’s an easy cop out.

Are you two together? I see your point but it almost feels like you’re finding a reason to blame him for something. I don’t blame you as it’s very tiring but maybe you can chat to him or show him a few things that you do and your son enjoys? Show him a video of something fun ask him to try it with your son and maybe he’ll do it? X

My partner is the exact same tbh. He puts the TV on then plays his games. When I have spoken to him about it, he says it's because he doesn't know what to do with him and doesn't enjoy this age lol

My baby is 2 months old and i admit I do this too. When he gets bored of the wiggles I’ll pop him on the floor and interact and he’ll have tummy time but honestly most of the time he’s in the bouncer either watching tv or watching me or my partner (his dad) do stuff. Sometimes he watches my partner play the game or me hang out washing 🤷‍♀️ At this age there’s nothing I can realllly do with him besides the usual walking and 10 minutes of tummy time before he gets cranky. When he gets older i’ll definitely restrict tv time but it does get exhausting lol
