I haven’t been on mirena, but I had the iud Lyletta for about a year and a half before taking it out to get pregnant. I personally liked it. Pros - no period, 99.99% effective. My SO and I never practiced safe sex with it the whole time I had it, no baby. Same for many of my friends I know that have it. No worrying about taking a pill at the same time every day, and it was the best I’ve felt on any birth control I’ve had. Cons - ask them to cut the strings, your partner can/will get stabbed by it while having sex. The strings soften over time, but still ask them to cut it. Can fall out if you have rough sex, happened to my friend. Can also cause slight cramping. Usually just after you get it put in, but after I would have sex I would cramp from it sometimes.

I had mirena for about 5 years. I had no complaints aside from I just don’t do hormones anymore.

I had mirena for two years, messed with my hormones & held on to extra weight. As soon as I took it out , I shed the weight .

I went with mirena after both of my pregnancies and have no complaints! Does it’s job and it’s a one and done type of deal for 5 years
