Following. About to begin my second cycle. I only got 1 euploid embryo my first round and it ended in a chemical pregnancy.
I'm about to start cycle two after unsuccessful first round. Doing ICSI this time too.
In the same boat! Not great results from my first cycle, about to do a second with ICSI this time 🤞
I've heard that the body can respond better the second time. Some people see the first cycle as a trial, to understand how the body will respond, and then next time adjust medication or procedure to optimise results.
First round I got 3 Second round I got 19!! We changed the protocol second time round.

I got less eggs but better quality and fertilisation. Round 1 - 9 eggs, 4 mature, 2 fertilised. Both transferred day 3. Chemical pregnancy. Round 2 - 8 eggs, 8 mature, 6 fertilised, 5 blasts. First transfer ended in missed miscarriage but the second was my daughter with 3 in the freezer. Long protocol 1st, short protocol 2nd. They also had slightly longer between trigger and egg collection to help them mature. ICSI both times due to male factor.
My second epu I got 29 eggs, my first I got 6, I was borderline hyper over stimulated.
I’ve first cycle we only had 3 eggs. All 3 fertilized. 2 made to blast. And 1 came back normal from genetics. We transferred and it didn’t work. Second cycle we got 12 eggs. 10 fertilized. 6 made it to blast. 4 were normal. 1 was mosaic. Second transfer worked:) holding my sleeping 9 month old now and pregnant another boy 🩵 You got this!
@Jodi I was put on the antagonist protocol first time round which was 150 of fsh gonal then my 2nd injection closer to egg retrieval to stop me ovulating Second round i got put on the long protocol Where I was given 300 of menopur. I never needed a second injection as I was given decapeptyl beforehand xx

No. We didn’t test them. It isn’t something that is really done in the UK unless there is a need or you’re over a certain age.
Hi! My first round we got 2 euploid (25 eggs only 8 mature). So decided to do a second round to bank more, and the doctor changed up the med dosages and it worked a lot better, and we ended that cycle with 5 more euploid embryos.🙏🏼 The benefit of doing more than one cycle is they can tweak the protocol to be more personalized, based on how you responded the first time.
