It's not a myth. It's based in fact. However the practice is definitely got nuances we probably don't understand and every individual is different. Who knows though! It ended up working that way for us with our first! Good luck
It’s possible it can help but my son was conceived having done the deed 4/5 days before ovulation. Your PH can also be a factor. I’m pretty sure I’m more alkaline down there which leads to longer lasting Y sperm, whereas the X sperm can survive in more acidic environments longer than Y can

Probably, but I’ve never tried. You would think eating foods like citrus would help make you more acidic, but actually our systems convert them to be more alkaline. It would take more looking into
Am still waiting to see if this meth works with me . I thought if you have sex five days before ovulation . Chances are a girl as girls sperm survives longer ? I’m will tell you if mine works am currently 7 weeks. I tried once and got pregnant .
