Contraception After Birth??

Hello all, My baby is currently 7 weeks old, I’m a FTM & have never used contraception before.. what has worked for you all? I’m really nervous about the side affects, I know I can’t avoid them and that it works differently for different people but I just want to know different perspectives and experiences. Thank you x

MIRENA thats the contraception I swear by …its known as the working mom’s contraception in the US. it usually stops your period or very light spotting. should be changed every 5/6years and has the least amount of hormones. i got mine inserted at 6 weeks post partum - when i had my first pregnancy. side note it’s slightly painful to insert its an IUs/IUD. however they say alot of these coils affects the body differently however i havent heart too many horrow stories about those one. and it definitely does not cause weight gain. i loved it for the no period cramps and bleeding. however day of first insertion slight cramping. hope this helps. theres also patches- that causes weight gain i’ve heard, also the copper coil is an option however ive heard horrow storries. again depends on your bodies reation as either one of these contraceptives- they are all foreign object being placed in the body. Still Mirena is the only one I know and swear by :) good luck

…sorry about the typos hehe still hope it makes helps

I have personally hated the Mirena coil and caused me so much discomfort and pain, but that was before having children…

I have had an implant in my arm for a year, it was quite awful for me. I usually have short and light periods, about two days and not really any pain or cramps. With the implant, I was bleeding heavily for about 2 weeks every two months and had awful cramps. I guess it really depends from person to person
