Birthday gift etiquette

If gifts are shipped in advance are you supposed to open the package, wrap it and then have baby “unwrap” at the party? Does the answer change whether the person who sent the gift in advance will be attending the party or not?

Nope, just open the box, why waste wrapping paper?

@Cara some people that are attending the birthday party have already sent gifts and some are wrapped and some are not. I wasn’t sure if it is polite or expected to have their gift at the party. I wouldn’t want a bunch of wrapped presents and then just a box. Also for people who are not attending I wasn’t sure if I should bring their gift to the party. I know I am over thinking this 🤣

If you do want to include it in the birthday party and wanna save time a gift bag would be just fine too. I understand the part about wanting everyone to be included. For my babies first he has a lot of family overseas including his dad so I’m just getting a few on themed gift bags to pop their gifts in

If it’s wrapped, I keep it that way even in the Amazon gift bags. If not wrapped, I’ll wrap it. I feel as a kid one of my favorite thing to do was rip apart the paper so why not let my kids enjoy it too yknow

@Anyah good idea.

@Brianna Definitely. if he was older I would for sure wrap it so he could unwrap it. Another thought that crossed my mind was wondering if he will actually be overwhelmed by the gifts. We can see how he does.
