Chickenpox

I am the only one who has got chickenpox no idea how I've had them before but I've been told I definitely have chickenpox how does that work out. I've had my child whilst having chickenpox but he has nothing. Is that normal?

Poor you! I hope you aren’t suffering too bad. It’s rare but you can get them again, especially whilst taking anti suppressant medication or if you had them before 1. The incubation period is up to 3 weeks before spots appear so be prepared for LO to come out in spots soon. Make sure you’ve got calpol not neurofen. I have been previously recommended a mouse poxcillin I think it is? I didn’t use it but we are still unsure if my boy had HFM or the pox

@Chloe It strange I've had him everyday even with blisters but nothing on him it's been going on nearly a week. I have plenty of Calpol since we're still going through teething. HFM? Sorry I haven't got a clue what that is x

Hand foot and mouth (HFM)

I have had chicken pox twice. Ones at 6 weeks old and again at 13. The second time was much worse. As said above there is a incubation period so your son could still get it. If you are still breastfeeding that could also be a reason why baby hasn't caught it yet as your antibodies are fighting it off for him at the moment.

@Heidi oh that makes sense. Sorry I swear I don't get all the terms unless I go through it x

@Cece I don't breastfeed I had problems with it. I'm still getting new blisters just waiting to see if he gets any x
