Birth control is ruining my life

I need some suggestions on low dose bc. I’m breaking out, can’t loose weight, have low Libido, wacky periods and other terrible symptoms. Things I have tired are: pills, depo shot, and implant none of which have worked out for me. I would really like to steer away from the iud. I have a 17 month old and I’m not quite ready for another but I do want more in the future. Theoretically I would really like to use the calendar method but I don’t know how to do it for it to really be effective. If anyone has tips on that I’d love them. Otherwise if anyone who knows the lesser of evils please let me know your experience. Thanks in advance.

I have a 16 month old and had an IUD placed for birth control. I had nausea with the pill and went off of it so knew I didn’t want to try that again. I am a nurse. An IUD doesn’t prevent you from ever having kids again. You can have it removed at any time and try for another baby without any issues.

I’m sensitive to estrogen so I take a progesterone only pill and I have zero symptoms with it. I’ve previously tried the Nuva Ring and a regular pill, but I would get migraines with aura, intense weight gain, my breasts would get so engorged it would hurt for even a shirt to touch them.

The paragard IUD is the only BC I've tried and had no side effects from. I love it. You can have it removed at any time and it's non hormonal so it doesn't give you the side effects you were having with your other BC.

Look up natural family planning. There is a nurse on Instagram called Purely parsons and she covers in detail how to do the calender method!! There are also apps for it. Quit taking BC bc it truly is ruining your hormones and it’s carcinogenic. 🤷🏻‍♀️

I’m sorry for your experiences with birth control! I’ve experienced what felt like all of the side effects from various birth controls over the years and finally got off of it when I was pregnant. I conceived with the implant in my body so I don’t trust any form anymore. I track my cycle now and it has been working so far. Hope this helps 🫶

I got switched from the mini pill to blisovi and my acne is FINALLY starting to go away!! And I’m actually in much better moods
