Mamas so what the difference between a traditional OBGYN vs a midwife? And how were your experiences different?

A midwife can’t do c-sections or surgeries but can help deliver babies vaginally basically

@Willow is it just less interventions?

Yes and no. I’d google it

from what i understand, midwifery care is more traditional and very limited. It focuses more on the physiological side of things and instincts, but it is limited in helpful information in case of complications. An OBGYN is a medical professional, a doctor, who can perform surgeries, assess for high risk complications (and get a team together with them to help where as a midwife would simply transfer you to a high risk team and drop you from their list) and often has better accomodations for your specific wants/needs for care. Both have their pros and cons and honestly i think its more personal choice than anything else.

One is a doctor/surgeon and one is a midwife.
