Evening primrose capsules

So I have a problem… About 4 days ago I started to insert the evening primrose capsules to help soften everything for labour… Tonight, I inserted one and when I went to check it was as high as possible I felt something else inside my vagina. After some wriggling around I managed to fish out an old capsule.. and then 3 more 🫣 they had turned from clear to white, and the oil had come out.. but the capsule had not dissolved!! I was mortified, because 1. They had not dissolved and 2. I’m assuming having all these old capsules hanging around could poses a bacterial risk. Has this happened to anyone else? I had assumed the capsules just dissolve inside you! 🤦🏽‍♀️ Have I missed a step!?

Are these the kind of capsules you are meant to swallow? If so they probably need digestive enzymes to be broken down. I can’t say I’ve ever heard that evening primrose soften your cervix and to be honest they probably would cause a bacterial risk if they are not designed to be inserted. Raspberry leaf tea and dates work when eaten, so maybe you’re meant to swallow the capsules? x

Thank you for your reply ☺️ there is a lot of information about inserting them, but never read anything about capsules not dissolving … maybe I just got a bad brand 🤔 sadly I’ve tried the dates and they make me itchy (that’s me reacting to high histamine foods) and on the tea too … which I don’t mind at all

If the box instructions say to take orally then Mish is right, they will be designed to break down in the digestive system. I never took it myself but I read a few things of people inserting evening primrose oil but I assumed they would be using specially designed capsules/methods.
