Contraception after birth

So I’m 4 weeks pp, me and baby daddy have decided we want another baby but not until our son is about 2 years old. I’m the worst at remembering to take pills but a lot of the other options are pretty long term. Any experiences or advice?

i take the depo-provara shot and i love it. i’ve been on (and off) it for years. i have no side effects from it aside from not having a period which is common with that one. it’s 1 shot every 3 months, so when you want another baby i’d stop the shot about 3 months before you wanna start trying

Your only other non invasive option (and I think the best haha) is tracking your cycle e.g with the natural cycles app + using condoms xx

@Mackenzie I had this before my son and it stopped my fertility for 2 years! Thank you though xx

@Alex Has this worked okay for you? I would love to have an non invasive option but not get pregnant xx

oh no! i’m sorry that was your experience :/

It’s okay, got my little boy now 🥰

I was put on the mini pill while nursing. Micronor and was happy with it. Hope you find something that works for you! Congrats on your baby boy

I’ve used FAM (bbt, cm, ovulation tests strips) for four years now. I even successfully have avoided a second pregnancy while nursing the last 20 months

@Emily Kate Ah I was considering the mini pill, heard really good things! Thank you 🥰

@Emma Honestly sounds amazing! I love the idea of tracking x

Take a class! Getting off the pill and learning my body was the best choice I ever made

I’m breastfeeding so don’t have my period back yet, so for now we are using condoms. But when I cycle again we will use natural family planning- I’d like to buy the Kegg!

Me neither, I’m breastfeeding too☺️ what’s the kegg if you don’t mind me asking?

i take the mini pill because of my risks for blood clots and im HORRIBLE at remembering so i set alarms on my apple watch and phone since im on both 24/7 lol

It’s a device that measures your fertility measurements! I don’t have one but it seems awesome. There are tons of different fertility tracker products online! It’s one that doesn’t require a subscription
