It depends on the circumstances of the breakup, if it was an issue between you two (mutual decision, cheating, loss of feelings etc) yes to put it simply if they're an active part of babies life yes because it's for them not you but if he's abusive or just not involved/very little effort then I wouldn't. If it's going to risk your mental health in any way at all then no not worth it but if you can and he's a good dad just not a good partner then it's best to get him a card at least for the sake of your baby and their relationship

yeah i would, as long as they’re a loving and decent dad (and not an absolute arsehole towards me), for the benefit of my little one and their relationship

I’m getting him a card and a mug. We do not get on at the moment, my baby is 3 weeks old today and has met him 5 times so far. Which is why I’m getting him the bare minimum since that’s what he’s done for us.

Thanks girls, he is a really good dad tbh but a horrible boyfriend but it’s Father’s Day and it’s his day I’ll get him one

If he is a good parent regardless of what happened in the relationship I think a card would only be right,if he was a deadbeat I absolutely wouldn't bother but if he's a good dad then 100% yeah xx

@Harley yeah ur right thank you xxx

I did the first year of our break up despite our break up being awful - purely got the fact our son was 3 and had some understanding into gift giving. He has a new partner now so I believe that should be her responsibility from now 🤷🏻‍♀️

Yes. Just because they can be bad partners doesn’t mean they are bad dads. Also, that coparenting relationship is really important and it means you might get Mother’s Day cards too xx

Growing up my mom made sure we got our dad something even tho they weren’t on good terms. I think as long as he’s a good dad then yes & however small or big is up to you!
