Hip Pain

Any tips on hip pain while sleeping? I use a pregnancy pillow and have a pillow between my legs and nothing seems to help.

You should try out a chiropractor!

I have horrible hips and have struggled! Hip surgery and supposed to have a partial hip replacement I've continued to put off. I sleep on my left side but instead of flat on my left, at a 45° angle. I have a pillow on the bed, then my leg, then a body pillow, then my top leg. The body pillow cups me from my butt to my chest so I have full support of the top leg. And then I have a smaller pillow that's wedged between my back and the bed behind me to support my back and keep me at the 45° angle. I also have horrible shoulders. Yup shoulder surgeries, so it helps them too. And I keep a small pillow under my top arm to support that pillow.

Two pillows inside one pillow case put it between your legs, saved my hips!

@Tiffany I do the same! It sounds like a ridiculous lot just to go to sleep lol but it’s the only thing that works for me and I am constantly switching from left to right side every two or three hours. Sleep is pretty difficult these days.

@Laura same. My bf just shakes his head and smiles when ultimately he has to help me get out of all that so I can pee but I needed 8 hours before the baby and I'm no spring chicken and anemic so whatever it takes to get sleep I'm doing lol

I second the chiropractor suggestion. It’s a temporary fix but man it helped me a TON with my first. I’d have horrible hip and lower back pain that would shoot down into my butt and down into one leg. I’d go to the chiro once a month once I started getting those pains and it would instantly feel better and I’d do good until it got closer to the next month when I’d be due to go again. Maybe see if you can post on an area Facebook moms group for chiropractor suggestions. Some chiropractors just don’t know how to handle pregnant women which is why I say to ask in a moms group for area recommendations during pregnancy ♥️

I've had PGP since the beginning of the 2nd trimester 💀 The physio helps so much! Hubby gives me a thigh massage every other night, I do hydro twice a week, and I have a list of simple exercises to do on my pregnancy ball. It's helped a ton! Also, remember to keep your legs together when rolling in bed or getting in/out of the car, etc. Like a mermaid 🧜‍♀️

Chiro or physio helps.. unfortunately for me it just got worse and worse and nothing helped and I had to stop sleeping on a bed and then start sleeping on a recliner to get any sleep.. then by 3rd tri insomnia kicked in 😂 I’m sorry it’s not what you want to hear.. but try the recliner to get some shut eye!
