Sertraline Query

Anyone take Sertraline and noticed any side effects? My GP was useless telling me it’s up to me if I want to increase from 100mg to 150mg after I’ve explained low mood etc for a while now and would barely give any support pushing it to me to decide rather than advise or help or anything. I’ve not really had any side effects yet but worried there’s potential if I increase. Thanks for any help or advice.

There's potential with any medication for side effects, you won't know until you try it. What were you hoping for the GP to do or say? It is your decision at the end of the day.

I started on 100mg and noticed extreme fatigue and a bit of paranoia 😭 I spoke to my therapist and she said sertraline isn’t really a good one, it’s very strong and definitely shouldn’t be given for mild depression/anxiety. But because it’s the easiest to get GP’s give it out automatically first. I requested to change pills and noticed a big difference x

I take sertraline and have severe nausea every single day, I literally hardly eat anything once I’ve taken it… I’ve started to take it on a night so I don’t feel as nauseous x

@Amelia fluoxetine helped me it’s not as strong as sertraline x

@Amelia I’m at this stage of extreme fatigue it’s so so bad. Can I ask what you changed to?

@Leila same, hardly eat too with it

@Amy did fluoxetine give you fatigue like sertraline can? And did you do a transition period or did a straight swap? X

@Emma I never took sertraline. At first it did to a degree I started on a small dose and just upped it as I needed xx
