Baby name

Hi, my partner and I really like the name Devon for our baby boy. Some of my friends/family love it and some hate it. I know it’s ultimately our choice but I would like honest feedback as to whether you think he would be bullied etc. I don’t like completely unique names but I would like something where there wouldn’t be multiple in the same class. If it’s relevant, we do visit the county Devon on holiday once a year but he would NOT be named after this, we just like the name. Its origin is part French meaning divine though again not named because of this. Future holidays would be referred to as town name instead eg Brixham if we were going when he’s older.

I think that’s a super cute name!

My nephew is called Kent and while at first I thought it was a bit odd, it’s grown on me and others

I went to school with a Devon and he never had any issues with bullying. I think it’s a lovely name

I like it. Living in Devon myself I wouldn't use it but otherwise I think it's lovely!

I’ve Only ever known a girl Devon.. I kinda see it as a female name

@Danielle according to Google it’s both but supposedly more male than female? I only know a male Devon

Devon is a great name! I’ve only ever met 1 Devon so I’d say wouldn’t have lots of kids with same name. It’s easy to pronounce and is memorable. What helped me was to say out loud, write it out and how I felt saying it.

It's a nice name no issues with it at all I guess as someone not from UK my first thought is that it sounds like a women's name but honestly I don't think you'll get that much in UK

My friend is called devon and she’s never been bullied for it :) x

The Devon I know is a guy, I think it works for both - I live in the US.
