Finding an apartment

Me and my son's father are no longer together. I'm over all the bs that comes with dating him so I called it quits.(I'm to my breaking point.) I'm mentally checked and tired of trying. We live together (he doesn't know I'm trying to move). I've been looking for a place since January but been proactively looking since April. And it's so hard because I'm not originally from NY so I don't really know the Bronx like that. I've tried looking on Zillow, trulia hell even Facebook Market and nothing. Can anyone steer me in the right direction? I'm in the Bronx but work in Yonkers so looking for places either in the Bronx or Westchester.
