What age of kids do you get with foster care?

I am done making babies and considering foster care to continue having young kids in our home but I don’t know how old the kids we will get will be? We have all our baby stuff still but was thinking I might get rid of some or should I wait? I wasn’t thinking we would take on babies but I didn’t know if you can choose or not?

I'm an adopter but have spent a lot of time with Foster carers and as far as I'm aware you have control over the ages you Foster. Babies are highly sought after though so I'd keep everything ypu have or speak to a social worker to see if you can give anything away. Hope that helps! Obviously if someone is a Foster carer they'll know a lot more :)

When we started our journey on this they had us fill our paperwork on what ages and behaviors we'd accept. We chose the 2-4 age group.

We chose 0-5

We foster for our LA. There are so many children in need. We are approved 0-18 but you can set preferences. They like you to have a 2 year gap if possible. You can go to an open day and they give you information or you are welcome to message me.

You can choose your age group, my husband and I chose 0-3 year old. Our first placement was a newborn who we just adopted Friday after him being with us 2.5 years. We also got his sister placed with us as a newborn. She’s 15 months now

They ask you when getting licensed. For me it was birth to 2 years but in reality you could get birth to 18 yrs old

Thanks for everyone who responded!
