Hi is this the blood test to check fertility at the hospital? I'll be doing one soon maybe in the summer Have you got children already, sometimes they say if you have a child already you can conceive later,I have a child but had a early miscarriage and I have tried for 5 years so checking to see how much eggs I have left Good luck 💝

I feel you! I’m literally going for the same test next week too and absolutely bricking it. Message me privately if you’d like we can support each other through it x

@Life is Love hi it's through the NHS Fertility clinic. And no I haven't got any xgilsrenr already. I have PCOS

@Rach I'll message you x

First off - don’t panic! I am 32 now (31 when I had the test) and my ovarian reserve came back quite low for my age. However, AMH (the hormone they test) levels do NOT indicate whether you are fertile or not. Each month your ovaries will release a cohort of eggs but only 1 egg will ultimately mature - so low AMH/ovarian reserve has no impact on your natural fertility. The best predictor of fertility is your age. If your AMH is low, it only means your success rate in a single round of IVF is less successful. This is because in IVF they try to mature all the eggs that your ovaries release in a month’s cohort. People with low AMH may only release 4-5 eggs per month, whereas people with high AMH might release 20-25 eggs per month. So IVF is more difficult if you have low AMH, but either way if you are trying naturally your chances are exactly the same since your body can only mature one egg each month, if that makes sense.

@Mary is AMH and ovarian reserve different, which is the £99 blood test? What age is best? I'm 34 on Monday and wanted to do the fertility blood test in the summer the one on NHS £99 I had a progesterone blood test will get the results soon
