Incontinence after birth

Hey mamas, obvs this can be embarrassing, so hopefully someone doesn’t mind talking about it! I’m super bathroom shy, so I’ve been terrified to go to the doctor… I’m about 16 months PP and have been dealing with urgency and incontinence issues. At first I thought it was normal and would go away, but now that I’m over a year pp I’m starting to get worried. I have urgency issues where I’ll have to go really bad out of nowhere, and then sometimes I have incontinence and it’s super embarrassing. The urinary isn’t as bad.. I figured I’d leak a little when I sneezed and stuff.. but I’ve full on peed myself a few times. But the fecal incontinence is so embarrassing and making me feel bad about myself. I don’t want to have to go around in a diaper just in case I Sh*t myself! Please tell me if you’ve had any experience with this and what was done to fix it! Thank you!!

You went to the doctor all throughout your pregnancy, because they were specialists in dealing with pregnancy-related issues. What you have now is still a pregnancy-related issue, and it's nothing to be embarrassed over, no more than any other part of it was. Try to talk yourself into going back to talk to a doctor. They can help, they won't judge, they have seen it before and you won't have that worry and stress on your mind any more. Good luck 💖

Common but not normal symptoms of pelvic dysfunction. Go see a pelvic floor therapist, they screen for these symptoms and can help you with them.
